Description
The scientific name for Polar Bear is Ursus Maritimus (Sea Bear)
I really wanted to make a polar bear after watching a documentary about them. There was a lot of wide shot video where all you could see of the bear was it's very distinctive silhouette, and that's what I wanted to really capture. The proportions are as accurate as I could make them and I was so pleased with how it turned out. Initially I wanted to make this out of white felt but it hasn't arrived yet, so I used what I had left of these colors and the combo is perfect. This piece is already sold but I'll be making more, and I've started on a Grizzly pattern as well.
